Final Class

So, last Monday was my final glassblowing class. I was really excited because I knew we would get to do some fun things, but sad that it would be the last time. The other girl and I saw some ruffly bowls/vases on the shelves around the shop and decided that 's what we wanted to make. It was so much fun, but a little bit nerve-wracking, too. To get the ruffled edge, you have to get the top half of the piece hot in the glory hole, then progressively spin in faster and faster as the glass heats up...then, you have to keep spinning and pull it out, then hang it down...it was kind of crazy, but so much fun, and I love how mine turned out! Here are some pictures:

After we each made a ruffled vase, we still had plenty of time, so I made a third cup. It turned out so much better than my first two - isn't it cute?

I know I said this was my final class, and it was the last class of this session, but I think I'll go back sometime, maybe for just 1 night, instead of 6:)

Your vase looks awesome, a little reminiscent of Chihuli glass. I love it!

Really great!! What a fun and crazy talent to learn. By the by, the brownies turned out great...it was fun to chat the other day. By the way, this is Todd's wife....I don't know why he is always logged and I don't notice until I've already written a comment.
