Visiting the Fam

A few weeks ago, I went home to visit my family in the great state of Utah. My brother and sister-in-law just bought a house, so much of my time was spent hanging cabinets and painting. I had really great time hanging out with my brother, then we all enjoyed playing with my nephew, Taylor at night at my parents' house. Here's the highlights of the trip:
Thursday night: Homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner, playing with Taylor (he was pretty shy at first, since he hadn't seen me for over 4 months, but once he figured out I'd go anywhere he wanted to take me, I was in:) )
Friday: Running errands with Mama, Cafe Rio chicken soup for lunch, Putting together cabinets
Saturday: Lunch at Golden Corral (hoping we'd find something Taylor wanted to eat), painting the blue kitchen walls, hanging cabinets (with a break at 10 pm for chicken nuggets, Frostys and fries)
*The best part was that when Taylor and Laura came home, he took me to every room in the house and showed me around. He would go to each room, wait for me to turn on the light, then point at everything with his palm up....so adorable
Sunday: sleep in, church at 1 pm, dinner with Mama, Aaron, Laura & Taylor - homemade chili and cornbread!, more playing with Taylor :)
Monday: Run about 1 mile to Aaron and Laura's, paint the kitchen, eat lunch at Mom's, more work on the cabinets, then dinner with Cami and Andrea at Olive Garden - so good to catch up with them!
Tuesday: Running a few errands, talking to Grandma Rupp, hanging out with Mama

This is me and Taylor playing piano at my mom's house...he doesn't really like it when I help :) But, I didn't take it personally - he tells both of his parents to stop singing whenever they sing along, and they both have good voices.

And, this is Taylor in one of the cabinets that Aaron and Laura put together earlier...I just love this picture.
Taylor's not really talking yet, but he has a sign language interpreter/teacher for a mom, so he can communicate pretty well. I was amazed how many signs he knows...

Overall, a great vacation!!
