Orienteering....fantastic!
Saturday was a wonderful day - I had a fabulous breakfast (creme brule french toast - need I say more?) and went orienteering for the first time! It was SO much fun! Basically, you go to a park and choose a course to follow. The course consists of control points marked by flags and you receive a map showing you where they are throughout the park. This is definitely a sport for Washington parks, where there are tons of thickets and huge trees to hide the flags in. Oh, and the whole thing is timed, so you're running while you do this. An added bonus of this particular event - it was pouring rain the entire time! It was fantastic!

I saw Orienteering on PBS Kids and it sounded like fun! I'm sure it was even better in the rain!
